Susan S. Scott
Seattle, Washington
"As women, we're certainly not encouraged to spend time going inward to find the gems, bring them forth, and have them shine in any way in our culture. But the culture desperately needs that. If we are not able to come forward with our own truths... we've done a very deep disservice to our world."
Jungian Psychotherapist, writer, photographer, Scott has published two books:
Songs of Love and Woe, poems and photographs, and
Healing with Nature, with photographs. Her work has appeared in a long list of publications including The Forum; Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study; Experience Life Magazine; Psychological Perspectives; The Arts in Psychotherapy: An International Journal; and other psychological and literary journals. She also had a poem selected for Seattle's Poetry on Buses 2003.
After a debilitating spinal injury, Scott was unable to sit in her office to work with clients, so she began walking therapy with her patients. She found the walking promoted faster healing than in the typical office sessions.
