Debra Bevaart
Lund, British Columbia, Canada

"I guess [carving's] an obsession. Once I get started I can't stop until the whole project's finished."

Sculptor, illustrator, painter, gallery owner, teacher, Debra Bevaart carves primarily in stone, many pieces of which are in personal collections and in the Tug Ghum Gallery in the historic Lund Hotel. She painted murals in the guest rooms at the hotel and her illustrations appear in the best seller Fly Fishing British Columbia.

In addition to creating new works, Bevaart now leads soapstone carving workshops in her studio at the gallery. She can be contacted at aartcreations@shaw.ca

"I hope I keep growing with my art... I'll be doing this forever. I know that."
